Nick Cannon To Host Mornings On 92.3 Now/N.Y.
Actor NICK CANNON will be joining CBS RADIO Top 40 WXRK (92.3 NOW)/NEW YORK for mornings starting JANUARY 19th,
"I have been immersed in the entertainment business for more than half my life,” said CANNON. "With continued success in television, film and music both on and off camera, in addition to directing, writing and producing, radio is both an exciting and natural next step in my career. I look forward to waking up audiences and making friends across the tri-state area on NEW YORK's Hit Music Channel, 92.3 NOW."
"No one is more in tune with our young adult listeners than NICK. 92.3 NOW has experienced substantial audience growth since we launched the station and the addition of such a well-known and respected star like NICK CANNON will further resonate with and excite our entertainment-savvy listeners," said PD and CBS RADIO VP of CHR Programming DOM THEODORE. "NICK's passion and energy for both music and radio are undeniable and we can’t wait to have him join our immensely talented crew at 92.3."
CANNON's radio move accompanies his push into production with his N'CREDIBLE ENTERTAINMENT, which is working on a "JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS" reality and scripted project for MTV NETWORKS' TEENNICK, an MTV special, and a series for CARTOON NETWORK's ADULT SWIM. The company is also creating a book series with SIMON AND SCHUSTER's Children's publishing division in conjunction with NICKELODEON movie "THE SCHOOL GYRLS," written and directed by CANNON, with an album by the titular group on ISLAND RECORDS. CANNON will also continue as host of NBC's "AMERICA'S GOT TALENT."
The deal was negotiated by CANNON's radio agent BOB EATMAN
Kraddick Launches Radio Syndication Network
Syndicated morning show host Kidd Kraddick has announced that he has acquired full ownership of his show and its syndication and has launched “Yea Network,” a multi-product syndication network.
Kraddick said this has been in the works for a long time. “It’s always been my dream to own my show. The folks at Clear Channel realized this is something I really wanted and they bent over backwards to make it happen.”
In tandem with taking over control of his show, Kraddick inked a new multi-year deal with KISS-FM Dallas. “That was one of the main goals of this process,” Kraddick said about the extended agreement with his flagship station. “If I ever retire, I want it to be in the KISS-FM jersey. Knowing my future is set there was a big part of this.”
According to Yea Network Operations Manager Josh Medlock, “Kidd is a dedicated radio guy who has created an incredible brand in Dallas and five years into his syndication, it’s starting to happen nationwide. Now we’ve got the chance to put those skills to work to build other products. We’re all thrilled that this was able to come to fruition.”
Commented JD Freeman, president/market manager, Clear Channel Dallas, “I’m thrilled that we have entered into a long term agreement with Kidd at KHKS in Dallas. The show’s ability to deliver unmatched ratings performance in morning drive is the envy of many broadcasters.”

Opie & Anthony are close to adding more terrestrial stations—and that was always the plan
INSIDE RADIO
Agent Robert Eatman tells Inside Radio "we provided for that in their contract" with XM. &npsp; The satcaster has the right to squash a deal with a terrestrial broadcaster But on the heels of last month's syndication to seven CBS stations—that's less likely Eatman says he's had "endless" calls and tells Inside Radio they are close to announcing deals with "over a dozen" stations He says "we are talking to everybody," including small groups that would put Opie & Anthony on one or two stations There's also a "deal on the table" with Citadel—but the terms are still being knocked out Back in December 2004 (and with Farid Suleman's blessing) Citadel's Syracuse rocker "95X" was O&A's first terrestrial try-out Eatman says the timing is now right for their return with a "confidence of morning show availability." Not just with Stern's departure, but also because of the growing number of FM talk stations

BILLBOARD RADIO MONITOR
Already heard on 11 CBS Radio stations, the O&A virus is about to spread to a handful of non-CBS stations, Billboard Radio Monitor has learned. However, XM Satellite Radio and agent Bob Eatman, who syndicates the show, are not yet in harmony on syndication terms for non-CBS-owned stations
